WashCombo and WashTower solve the same space problem in different ways. WashCombo is a single ventless drum that washes and then dries the same load without transferring it anywhere, which means the heating, the heat-pump condenser and the drying air path all live inside the same cabinet as the wash components – a fault in drying sits physically close to the wash side, and getting to it means going past it. WashTower keeps a separate washer and dryer, each with its own drum and drive, but stacks them in one cabinet under one shared control panel that both halves report to.
Because both products are newer to LG’s US lineup than its standalone washers and dryers, we confirm the exact model before quoting – the parts, the fault-code set and even which half of a WashTower failed are not always obvious from the outside of the cabinet. On WashCombo units we pay particular attention to the drying-side components, since that is where LG’s own documentation places the dHE code and where most of the drying-only complaints we see turn out to sit.
We isolate the unit at the breaker and close the supply taps before any panel is opened, and on a WashTower we check the shared control and the connection between the two halves before treating a fault as belonging to one side alone.
