Check the cookware first - induction only works with magnetic pans that sit flat and are roughly matched to the zone size, and a pan that is warped, too small, or made of aluminum or copper without a magnetic base will not be detected no matter what condition the cooktop is in. If a pan you already know works elsewhere still is not recognized, a zone sensor or power board fault is the likelier explanation.

No. HS on an LG cooktop indicates the surface is still hot - specifically above roughly 150 degrees Fahrenheit - and is a safety notice rather than a fault code. It clears by itself once the surface has cooled and does not need a repair visit.

No - switch the cooktop off at the breaker before doing anything else, and do not cook on it again until the surface has been replaced. A cracked glass top can let liquid reach the electrical components underneath it, and that risk does not go away just because the crack looks small.

Moisture from a spill or cleaning, a burner cap that is not seated flat, or a worn igniter switch are the usual causes.
