What PF (Dryer Power Failure) Means
PF on a dryer means power was interrupted, most commonly after an outage, per LG's dryer Help Library article, and the recommended fix is effectively a factory reset of the control board.

- Household power outage during a cycle
- Dryer unplugged or breaker tripped mid-cycle
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug the dryer (or trip its circuit breaker), and while it's without power, press and hold the Start/Pause button for 5 seconds, then restore power and try running a cycle.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If PF persists after this reset procedure, LG says the unit may require a repair service - a repeat PF unrelated to any actual power interruption you're aware of is different from a normal one-time occurrence.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
