What F8, F18 (Oven Meat Probe Error) Means
F8 and F18 both indicate an Oven Meat Probe Error, per LG's range Help Library article - a fault with the optional temperature probe accessory used to monitor the internal temperature of roasts and other large cuts while cooking, not the oven itself.
Common Causes of F8, F18 (Oven Meat Probe Error)
- Meat probe not fully connected to its jack
- Probe cable pinched in the oven door
- Meat probe or its jack has failed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Press the CLEAR/OFF key and try the original function again; if it reappears, cycle the circuit breaker for 30 seconds before trying once more. Also check that the probe is fully plugged into its jack and that the probe cable isn't pinched in the oven door.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If the probe is properly connected and the code persists, the probe itself (an inexpensive accessory part) or its jack inside the oven cavity may need replacement - check with LG or a parts supplier for a replacement probe before assuming the whole oven needs service.
