What AS, L AS, r AS Means
This code (shown as AS, or as L AS/r AS to indicate the left or right door) displays when the auto door motor is operating but its reed switch is stuck in the open state, per LG's error-code list. LG documents no troubleshooting steps.
Common Causes of AS, L AS, r AS
- Reed switch stuck in open state
- Auto door motor or switch wiring fault
- Physical obstruction preventing the door from reaching its switch trigger point
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
As with Ad, check for anything physically blocking the auto-door's movement before assuming the switch itself has failed.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- LG lists no home fix; the reed switch is a small sealed component inside the door mechanism, not something to open up without the right replacement part in hand.
- Repeated auto-door faults left unaddressed can leave a door not fully seated, letting warm air into the compartment continuously.
