Common Causes of C1
- Temporary communication glitch between display and dispenser boards
- Loose connector between the display and dispenser assemblies
- Display or dispenser board fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug the refrigerator for about a minute and plug it back in; LG's combined article treats this family of communication codes as often clearing with a reset, checking again once the unit fully restarts (which can take up to five minutes).
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If C1 returns after a proper reset, the wiring or board connecting the display to the dispenser needs a technician's inspection rather than repeated power cycling.
- The dispenser and display assemblies are both front-panel components with ribbon cables that are easy to damage if opened up without the right approach.
