What LE, LE1 (Motor/Drum Won't Spin) Means
LE means the drum failed to spin because the motor couldn't turn it, documented consistently across LG's front-load washer, top-load washer (as AE/LE/LE1, a rotation-error group), and WashTower pages. The most common real-world causes LG names are an overloaded wash load, continuous heavy use without a break, or a foreign object such as a coin trapped between the drum and the outer tub.

- If you can hear the drum trying to turn with noise but it isn't actually rotating, or LE returns immediately after a load reduction, that points to a genuine motor or drive-belt fault needing a technician rather than repeated home resets.
- Reaching into the drum area to search for a trapped object is fine with the washer unplugged and empty, but disassembling the outer tub or motor housing to search further is a repair job, not a homeowner task.
- The same LE code means something different on an LG dishwasher (a cleaning-motor fault) and an LG Styler (a main fan motor restriction) - if you're troubleshooting a different LG appliance showing LE, this washer guidance doesn't apply to it.
